The 2027 Toyota Camry is now the model Toyota Canada features on toyota.ca, and it carries forward the formula that made the ninth-generation car a hit: hybrid power in every version, a choice of front- or all-wheel drive, and a long list of standard safety tech. The headline change for 2027 is in connected services, with longer trials for some and shorter ones for others. Here is what Canadian buyers need to know.
Still hybrid only, still FWD or AWD
There is no gas-only Camry. Every 2027 model uses the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System, built around a 2.5L four-cylinder engine, electric motor-generators, a lithium-ion battery and an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission.
- Front-wheel drive: 225 net combined horsepower (SE FWD).
- Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive: a dedicated electric motor on the rear axle raises output to 232 hp (SE Upgrade AWD, XLE AWD and XSE AWD).
The rear motor sends power to the back wheels when it is needed, for example when pulling away on a slippery road or when the system detects a loss of grip. For Canadians who want winter traction in a sedan, that is a big part of the Camry's appeal.
When Toyota launched this generation in 2024, it said the 225-hp rating was the most standard horsepower ever offered on a Camry.
The 2027 lineup
Toyota.ca lists four 2027 Camry models:
| Model | Drive | Power | Key highlights |
|---|---|---|---|
| SE FWD | FWD | 225 hp | 16-inch alloys, sport suspension, 8-inch screen |
| SE Upgrade AWD | AWD | 232 hp | 18-inch alloys, moonroof, power driver's seat with lumbar |
| XLE AWD | AWD | 232 hp | Leather, 12.3-inch screen, JBL audio, head-up display |
| XSE AWD | AWD | 232 hp | 19-inch alloys, sport suspension, leather, Traffic Jam Assist |
The front-drive SE can also be ordered with an Upgrade package that adds 18-inch wheels, a moonroof and Smart Key with entry, among other features.
At the time of writing, toyota.ca did not list a 2027 Nightshade. The Nightshade was introduced for 2026 as a limited-production styling package, so if you want one, check with your dealer.

What's new for 2027: connected services
The most clearly documented change between the 2026 and 2027 listings on toyota.ca involves Toyota's connected services, and it cuts both ways:
- Remote Connect: now a five-year trial on the 2027 models, up from three years on the 2026 listings. Remote Connect handles app features such as remote lock and unlock, and it is required for the Digital Key on the XLE and XSE.
- Drive Connect: now a three-month trial on every 2027 model. On the 2026 XLE and XSE it was a three-year trial, while the 2026 SE was listed as Drive Connect-capable with a paid subscription.
- Service Connect and Safety Connect: both are listed as five-year trials.
Drive Connect matters more than you might think. It powers cloud navigation and the "Hey Toyota" intelligent assistant, and the XSE's Traffic Jam Assist requires an active Drive Connect trial or subscription. After three months, you'll need to pay to keep using those features.
Standard equipment
Every Camry gets heated front seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, Blind Spot Monitor with Safe Exit Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and a backup camera with Back Guide Monitor.
The SE FWD has an 8-inch Toyota Multimedia screen, a 7-inch digital cluster, six speakers, mixed fabric and SofTex seats, 16-inch wheels and a sport suspension.
The SE Upgrade AWD adds 18-inch wheels, a moonroof, an 8-way power driver's seat with lumbar support, full Smart Key, an auto-dimming mirror with garage door opener, a wireless charger with five USB ports and paddle shifters.
The XLE AWD is the comfort pick, with leather seats that are heated and ventilated in front, an 8-way power passenger seat, driver memory, heated memory mirrors, a 12.3-inch screen, nine-speaker JBL audio, a head-up display, a panoramic moonroof, Digital Key, the Panoramic View Monitor and rain-sensing wipers.
The XSE AWD is the sporty flagship, with 19-inch wheels and sport suspension, leather heated and ventilated seats with memory, the 12.3-inch screen, JBL audio, a head-up display, a panoramic moonroof, Traffic Jam Assist, Front Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist and a driver monitor camera.

Pricing and availability
Toyota Canada had not published official 2027 Camry MSRPs at the time of writing, so we won't guess. For reference, the 2026 Camry started at $34,575 MSRP for the SE FWD. Toyota.ca also notes that 2026 Camry inventory is limited, so if you're hoping to buy a leftover 2026, act quickly. Our Camry price guide covers the official 2026 pricing in detail.
Should you wait for a 2027?
If you want the longer Remote Connect trial, or simply the newest model year for resale, the 2027 is the one to get. If you rely on built-in cloud navigation or Traffic Jam Assist, note that the 2027's Drive Connect trial is much shorter than the 2026 XLE and XSE's, so factor in the subscription cost. Mechanically and in core equipment, the two model years are very similar.
