The electric C-HR is Toyota's least expensive EV in Canada, and its three-grade lineup keeps shopping simple. 2027 Toyota C-HR prices start at $44,895 MSRP for the front-wheel-drive SE and top out at $54,395 for the XSE Premium AWD. Here is what Toyota Canada charges, how it compares with last year and which grade offers the best value.

2027 C-HR prices

Grade Drive Power Range (Toyota est.) MSRP Estimated vehicle price
SE FWD 221 hp up to 496 km $44,895 $47,972
XSE AWD AWD 338 hp up to 452 km $49,945 $53,022
XSE Premium AWD AWD 338 hp 438 km $54,395 $57,472

All three use the same 77 kWh battery. Toyota's estimated vehicle price adds freight and PDI, the A/C charge, and maximum dealer and other fees, which comes to $3,077 on each grade. Taxes, licence, insurance and registration are extra, and any government EV incentives would be calculated separately.

Compared with 2026

Toyota trimmed every 2027 MSRP by $5:

Grade 2026 MSRP 2027 MSRP
SE $44,900 $44,895
XSE AWD $49,950 $49,945
XSE Premium AWD $54,400 $54,395

The practical effect is that the base C-HR now sits just below $45,000 MSRP, a threshold Toyota Canada highlights in its announcement. The core recipe of battery, motors and equipment carries over.

C-HR SE: $44,895

The SE is the C-HR most buyers should look at first, because it has the longest range of any Toyota EV in Canada: up to 496 km from its 77 kWh battery and single 221-hp motor.

Standard equipment includes:

  • 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, a power liftgate and rain-sensing wipers with de-icers
  • 14-inch Toyota Multimedia touchscreen and 7-inch digital gauge cluster
  • Six-speaker audio and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • 8-way power driver's seat, heated front seats and SofTex-and-fabric upholstery
  • Heated steering wheel with paddle shifters for regenerative braking
  • Two-zone automatic climate control and 64-colour ambient lighting
  • Auto-dimming rear-view mirror with garage door opener
  • A 120V/1500W inverter
  • Dual wireless chargers and digital key
  • Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Safe Exit Assist, and front and rear parking assist with automatic braking

Who it's for: anyone who wants maximum range for the money and doesn't need all-wheel drive. Good winter tires go a long way on a front-drive EV.

C-HR XSE AWD: $49,945

For $5,050 more, the XSE adds a second motor and all-wheel drive, raising output to 338 hp. Toyota quotes 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds. Range drops to up to 452 km.

The XSE also adds:

  • Driver's seat memory and an 8-way power front passenger seat
  • Synthetic suede and SofTex upholstery
  • Reverse auto-tilt exterior mirrors with puddle lamps
  • Panoramic View Monitor
  • Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist and Front Cross Traffic Alert
  • Driver monitor camera

Who it's for: buyers who want AWD for snow and slush, strong acceleration and a fuller set of driver-assistance features.

C-HR XSE Premium AWD: $54,395

The top grade adds $4,450 worth of upgrades over the XSE:

  • 20-inch alloy wheels
  • A fixed panoramic moonroof
  • Headlamp cleaning system
  • Heated rear seats
  • Nine-speaker JBL audio

Toyota's 2027 release also lists two-tone paint options on the XSE Premium. The bigger wheels trim the estimated range to 438 km.

Who it's for: drivers who want the most comfortable and best-looking C-HR, and whose rear-seat passengers will appreciate heated seats in February.

Where the value is

Each step up the C-HR ladder costs around $5,000, but the steps are not equal:

  • SE to XSE AWD (+$5,050): you gain all-wheel drive, 117 more horsepower, memory and passenger power seats, the Panoramic View Monitor and several advanced driver aids. You give up up to 44 km of range. For many Canadians, that is a strong trade.
  • XSE AWD to XSE Premium (+$4,450): you gain comfort and style, including the panoramic roof, JBL audio, heated rear seats and headlamp cleaners. You lose another 14 km of estimated range. Worth it if those features matter to you, but not essential.

Our picks: the SE if you live somewhere with mild winters or mostly drive in the city, and the XSE AWD for most other Canadians.

Toyota C-HR XSE electric SUV

How it stacks up inside Toyota's EV lineup

The C-HR SE starts $1,090 below the 2027 bZ XLE ($45,985) and offers more range, because the C-HR uses the larger 77 kWh battery even in its base form. The bZ counters with more cargo space and a slightly longer body. We look at that choice in depth in our C-HR vs bZ comparison.

The bottom line

With prices from $44,895 to $54,395 and a 77 kWh battery in every grade, the 2027 C-HR is a well-equipped, sensibly priced electric SUV. The SE is the range champion, and the XSE AWD is the sweet spot of the lineup.
