Updated October 16, 2026. Toyota Canada announced a safety recall on October 14, 2026 for certain Land Cruiser vehicles from the 2024 to 2027 model years. About 6,721 vehicles in Canada are included. Here is what Toyota says, what dealers will do, and how to check your VIN.
What is the problem?
Toyota Canada says a fuel tube connection near the fuel tank on the subject vehicles could become disconnected. If that happens, fuel can leak until the engine in the hybrid system shuts off. Toyota says a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
Which Land Cruisers are affected?
The recall covers certain model year 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027 Land Cruisers. Not every Land Cruiser from those years is included. Toyota's public release does not publish a VIN list or a Transport Canada ID, so the only way to know if a specific vehicle is in the campaign is to check the VIN.
What will Toyota do?
Toyota says all known owners of the subject vehicles will be notified to return the vehicle to a Toyota dealer. Dealers will:
- inspect the connection, and
- install a supplemental clamp to keep it from disconnecting, or
- if needed, replace the resin fuel tube and install the clamp.
Toyota says this work is at no cost to the owner. Owner notices are expected by mid-December 2026.
How to check your vehicle
- Find your 17-character VIN (dashboard through the windshield, door jamb, or registration).
- Enter it at Toyota.ca/recall (or Lexus.ca/recall if you are checking a Lexus).
- If the VIN is included, book the dealer visit when Toyota's letter arrives, or call your dealer with the VIN.
Toyota Customer Interaction Centre: 1-888-TOYOTA-8 (1-888-869-6828).
If you are shopping for a Land Cruiser
A recall alone is not a reason to avoid the model, but it is a reason to check the exact VIN before you buy, especially on a used 2024 or 2025. Ask the dealer to print the recall status. Specs and Canadian MSRP for the current truck are on our 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser page.
Note: our Land Cruiser model page pulls Transport Canada recalls automatically. As of our October 15 sync it still showed no 2026 TC filing under this name. We will update that block when Transport Canada's database lists the campaign. Until then, rely on Toyota's VIN tool and this OEM announcement.
