On certain vehicles, a problem in the integrated park module could cause the park pawl not to engage when the transmission is shifted to the park (P) position. If this happens, the vehicle could move when it's parked, and the parking brake isn't used.
Note: This problem would cause a wrench light and a shift system fault message to be displayed in the instrument cluster. For the Maverick, Escape and Corsair models, this recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 2.5 L hybrid engine. For the F-150 model, this recall only affects Lightning (electric) models.
A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash.

On certain vehicles, a problem inside the high-voltage battery could cause a short circuit. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels and/or the high-voltage battery could overheat.
Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2025-628. This recall only affects certain plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) equipped with a 2.5 L engine.
A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. A battery that overheats can create a fire risk, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off.
To reduce the safety risk, Ford advises that you set the maximum charge setting of your vehicle at 80% and to only use normal EV mode until the recall repairs have been completed. Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the battery energy control module (BECM) and hybrid powertrain control module (HPCM) software. On certain vehicles, the rear combination lamps may have been damaged during production. As a result, water could enter the rear combination lamps and cause the reverse lamps, brake lamps, taillamps and rear turn signals not to work.
Brake lights, reverse lights and/or turn signals that don't work could cause a person not to recognize that a vehicle ahead is braking, backing up or about to turn. Tail lights that don't work could make the vehicle less visible to others. All these issues could increase the risk of a crash.
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the rear combination lamps.

A rearview camera image that doesn't display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Ford will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the SYNC software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Ford dealership.
