3 safety recalls on file for the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado.
This recall is for certain transfer case assemblies installed during production on certain new vehicles or sold as a replacement part.
On a small number of trucks, the transfer case assembly may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the transfer case could fail and cause the front and/or rear wheels to lock up while driving.
Note: This recall only affects trucks equipped with four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). This recall affects transfer case part number 87842227.
Front and/or rear wheels that lock suddenly could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.
To reduce the safety risk, General Motors advises you not to drive your truck until the recall repairs have been completed. General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact a dealership to arrange for an inspection and, if necessary, a transfer case assembly replacement.

Note: For the Escalade model, the recall also affects certain 2026 model year Escalade IQ and Escalade IQL models.
A missing owner's manual could cause confusion on how to safely operate the vehicle and increase the risk of injury or a crash.
General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to install the owner's manual.
